IRU- International Trade and Transport Facilitation Through Digitalisation of TIR Procedures

Participants from TIR associations and customs administrations
IRU welcomes TIR associations and customs administrations to the TIR digitalisation seminar that will take place in Baku on 5 September 2018 and will be organised in partnership with State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, BSEC, BSEC URTA and ABADA, and under the patronage of the UNECE TIR Secretariat.
The seminar is aimed at sharing the experience gained within the framework of the eTIR pilot projects that are taking place in the region, and identifying the means to digitalise the TIR procedure in further intermodal TIR corridors.
The main objectives of the seminar are to:
- Present the existing approach and vision of the future of TIR digitalisation, the current status of the joint UNECE-IRU eTIR pilot project carried out in Turkey and Iran, as well as the results of the pilot carried out between Georgia and Turkey, Turkey and Ukraine, and what is referred to as the Batumi corridor (Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan).
- Discuss the potential participation of those countries in the creation of a digital TIR corridor in the region, and concrete steps to potentially start cooperation in this direction.
- Elaborate on a possible cooperation agreement on TIR digitalisation.
Within the framework of the seminar, both technical and procedural aspects of TIR computerisation will be discussed.
