1. WHERE WE WORK:

The Netherlands supports mainly international and regional organisations focussed on helping developing countries and LDCs to implement the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).

 

2. TYPE OF PROGRAMS/ ASSISTANCE WE OFFER:

Global and regional programs supported by the Netherlands that assist Members to implement the TFA include:

  • the World Bank Trade Facilitation Support Program
  • Trademark East Africa
  • ECOWAS/UEMOA Trade Facilitation West Africa Program

 

Other international bodies doing work in the area of trade facilitation that are currently supported by the Netherlands are: the International Trade Centre, Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI), World Trade Organisation Netherlands Trainee Program, World Trade Organisation Standards and Trade Development Facility, Codex Trust Fund.

 

3. WHO TO CONTACT:

Members seeking assistance with TFA implementation are encouraged to contact the global programs supported by the Netherlands that specifically focus on TFA implementation as mentioned above.

4. WHO MUST MAKE THE REQUEST:

The ministries or agencies responsible for Trade Facilitation/Contact persons of the offices identified as responsible to coordinate with donors as required by Section II, Article 22.3 of the Trade Facilitation Agreement.

 

5. WHAT INFORMATION NEEDS TO BE PROVIDED BY THE RECIPIENT COUNTRY:

The information required will depend on the nature of the proposed work. This is best identified in consultation with the applicable implementation partner.

 

6. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A REQUEST IS MADE:
