On 1 January 2021, the United Kingdom deposited an instrument of continued acceptance for the TFA Protocol. The deposit has been formally notified in WT/Let/1501. On 5 October 2015, the European Union had accepted the Protocol, which accordingly covered the United Kingdom at the time. The United Kingdom ceased to be a Member State of the European Union on 31 January 2020.
