In support of “building back better” after COVID-19, the initiative aims to develop model provisions in regional and other trade agreements to promote more trade cooperation and predictability in times of crisis and pandemic – and speed up recovery.
As part of the project, an analysis of the impact of trade requirements and procedures on food losses behind, at and beyond the border. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, food security and food safety have been brought to the forefront of public policy, having a multifaceted impact on trade in agricultural products, and as such this project will further consider such emerging policy implications.
